The University of the Third Age

The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a learning organisation made up of independent groups run by their members. Most are affiliated with the Third Age Trust, the national coordinating body for u3as in the UK. U3As are all self-financing and self-managing bodies, many of which are also formally registered as charities.

Members are normally retired or semi-retired from paid employment, who wish to use some of their leisure time to acquire new skills and help others do the same. To find out more about the history and ethos of the U3A, follow the link below to the website for the Third Age Trust.
