Environmental action near you

Our guest speaker will be Gemma Adams, who will talk about the work done by local environmental community groups and the activities that people, if they are interested, can join in with.

Local residents can take part in many such initiatives in our area. These currently include:

• the Electrical Recycling Scheme in Hythe and Folkestone
• the gleaning programme which provides foods to schools, local food banks and other community groups
• various litter picks including the Great British Beach Clean
• the Community Orchard at the Eaton Lands
• Sandgate Watch which is a community Science project
• Wild about Sandgate which is about turning Sandgate into a Community Nature Reserve
