This Group is not intended to be set up in opposition to any established Bowls Clubs in the area. It is being organised to encourage U3A members who have never played Bowls before and do not want the formality of joining an established Club to get the chance to try out the activity.

It will be run indoors, on a relaxed and informal basis, every Friday at the St Andrews Church Hall. The cost to members will be £2 per session, to help offset the hall fees etc.

All the equipment and bowls needed will be supplied and there will be access to the Hall kitchen for a mid-session tea break. There is also a Greggs nearby for an occasional sticky bun purchase as well!

The Group will have its first meeting in early January with an initial active membership of 12, which figure has very quickly been reached. Further members applying to join the Group will be placed on the waiting list, so don't hesitate to apply in the usual way.
