This Group has just been reborn under new leadership and has already been filled with members who have been on the Waiting List of the other two Gardening Groups for some time. Additional members may still apply to join and will be added to the waiting list for this Group in the usual way.

The Group is led by an experienced gardener who has helped to organise a display at RHS Hampton Court, designed a few gardens, and is an RHS member. The Group Leader is keen to ensure everything will be organised through consensus, and can already see consideration blossoming amongst members.

The Group Leader writes that:

“We are a light-hearted and friendly group with much to look forward to. It is quite important to be aware that everyone has different ideas and tastes about gardens. Our ethos is to share knowledge, enthusiasm and plants, while enjoying each other's company.

We may meet in each other gardens, when we contribute £1 each time to cover refreshments. We can also meet at other venues such as cafés to discuss plans for future meetings out of season.

Likewise, we will also visit garden centres, places of interest derived from internet searches, events, and places that appear in the National Garden Scheme (NGS) “Yellow Book”. We plan to take advantage of the “Gardeners' World” magazine “2 for 1” offers to bring costs down. We will support each other with lifts where possible and can always contribute to petrol and tip coach drivers too.

Occasionally we may combine with one or both of the other Gardening Groups on a visit to a public garden — for example, some of us joined on a trip to Gingerley Green Flower Farm in August 2025.”
